Soooo...I woke up in Goldenrod City today.

Last time I checked I was in Ecruteak, getting ready for my gym battle. Does anyone know what happened? Did I fall asleep for a week or something? I mean, who would go through all the trouble of bringing me back here anyway? As far as I know, Minnie's still in Olivine....

Right. So, did anyone else wake up somewhere they weren't supposed to be today?

On top of this building in some city.

[He jumps off the edge of the roof he's on. There are startled cries from early-morning shoppers as a barefoot kid in a cloak lands in a crouch on the rooftop square of the Goldenrod Department store, having jumped down from on top of the elevators. Apollo ignores them for the moment in favor of Danny.]

Where am I?

[He points the camera across the square and at the city beyond.]

I went to sleep outside Violet City. This isn't Violet City.

Oh. Well, it looks like you're in Goldenrod. It's the only city with that big of a store.

I have no idea where that is.

You've got a map, why don't you look at it?

Are you serious?! Do you know anything?

I know lots of stuff. Just not anything about human towns except what I've learned here.

Doesn't everyone come here as a human?

I'm human but I've never been around humans besides Grandpa. Or the poachers, but I don't talk to those jerks.

No, Grandpa raised me.

Wolves would probably have done a good job though.

Well, I guess that explains how you don't know anything.

I know the important stuff. [For his definition of "important". The knowledge required to live in a forest in no way matches the knowledge required to live in a city.]

Well, survival is important, but you should know how to navigate a city too.

[Yeah Danny's totally right, as much as Apollo wishes he weren't.]

So how do I navigate a city?

Well....er....well, it'd be easier to teach you in person. Do you have any idea what city you're in?

[He replies a minute later.]

The people here said that I'm on top of the Goldenrod Department Store in Goldenrod City.

Oh, okay, I'm in Goldenrod too. I'll come over there.

Okay. I'll try and get to the ground.

[When Danny arrives, he'll see an uncomfortable-looking kid coming out of the doors, bare feet visible whenever he takes a step. A larger than average Spearow is sitting proudly on one shoulder and a Sentret is peeking out from under his collar on the other shoulder. Apollo's very obviously not happy about being here, though that's not the only thing. Guess whose Pokémon roped him into buying stuff on their way down?]

Wow, you really do look out of place here.

And why's that?

[A bit defensively. He's on edge in this unfamiliar environment. Sentret narrows her eyes suspiciously at Danny and slips farther under Apollo's cloak while Spearow sits up straighter and tries to look cooler.]

Your clothes, for one. One look and most anyone can tell you live on a mountain.

They work for what I need to do.
